1. Where can I find your products?
Swift and Swift Premium fresh pork products are carried in many retail grocery stores, club warehouse stores and restaurants around the country. But as stores and restaurants change the products they carry on a daily basis (and as we wouldn't want to offend anyone by accidentally leaving them off the list), we have chosen not to list them on this site at this time.
2. Do your products contain gluten?
We do not manufacture any pork products that contain gluten. The U.S.D.A. requires that manufactures call out gluten on the nutrition label so it is best to read the label carefully in order to be sure.
3. How long can I keep your products in the refrigerator?
It depends on how the product is packed. If it is packed in our production facilities in vacuum packaging, bone in product has 22 days of refrigerated shelf life from the date we pack it and boneless product has 30 days of refrigerated shelf life from the date we pack it.
It is the retail grocery store’s responsibility to put a “Use or Freeze By” or a “Sell By” date on each package of meat. They base this on information that we provide them on when we pack the product. Always follow the retail grocery store’s date information and if you have any questions about the date, ask the retailer. Each retailer makes their own decision about whether to use a “Use or Freeze By” or a “Sell By” date and each retailer has a different policy about how long after the Sell By date it is safe to cook and eat the product.
4. How long can I keep your products in the freezer?
It is generally accepted that meat will keep in the freezer up to a year as long as it was frozen while still fresh, and has been solidly frozen the entire time.
5. What's the best way to freeze your products?
Packaging of the meat has an effect on the quality as, for example, vacuum-packed meat will last longer and have little to no freezer burn. If your product was not vacuum-packed, we suggest freezing meat in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, eliminating as much air as possible to avoid freezer burn.
6. What's the best way to thaw your products?
The best way to thaw frozen meat is to do it in the refrigerator. That way the meat thaws slowly, doing less damage to the meat, and the temperature never gets high enough for the bacteria to start multiplying. Do not thaw meat by sitting it on the counter at room temperature.
7. Where can I find the use by date on your product?
That depends on where the product was packaged. If it was packaged in one of our production facilities, the date code will be stamped on the manufacturers label or in another highly visible spot on the vacuum package. If it was packaged in the retail grocery store, the date will be on the price label.
