Miso-Glazed Pork Chops

Serves: 4
Ingredients:
  • Four 5 to 6 ounce Swift Premium® Boneless Pork Loin Chops, cut 3/4 inch thick
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Toasted sesame seed and/or thinly sliced green onion, for garnish
  • 2/3 cup mirin (Japanese cooking wine)
  • 2 tablespoons sweet white miso
  • 4 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (1 teaspoon)
  • 1/4 teaspoon soy sauce
Cooking Directions:
  1. Preheat gas grill to medium for direct grilling. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Rub oil on both sides of pork chops; season with salt and pepper.
  2. For glaze, combine mirin, miso, ginger, brown sugar, garlic, and soy sauce in small saucepan. Gently simmer, uncovered, about 10 minutes or until reduced by half.
  3. Grill chops, uncovered, for 8 to 9 minutes or until instant-read thermometer inserted near centers reads 145°F, turning chops over halfway through grilling and brushing with half of the glaze during the last 3 minutes of grilling.
  4. Transfer chops to serving platter. Loosely cover with foil; let rest for 3 minutes. Brush with remaining glaze. Garnish with sesame seed and/or green onion.
